Weekend top picks: Ice skating is back, and so are free turkeys for military families | ClarksvilleNow.com – Clarksville Now

CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – Thanksgiving is around the corner, and some anticipated events will be back to kick off the holiday season this weekend.
Winter Ice at the Downtown Commons: Ice skating opens back up this Saturday at 4 p.m. $12 adults/ $10 children under 12, government/military/APSU students. This is an ongoing event that will be from 4-9 p.m. on Thursdays and Fridays; 10 a.m.-9 p.m. on Saturdays; and 2-9 p.m. on Sundays. Hours vary on holidays, during school breaks, and during special events. Ice skates are included in the cost of the ticket.
Turkeys for Troops: Military families can come by the James Corlew Chevrolet parking lot for their free turkey on Saturday. 1,500 turkeys will be given away starting at 8 a.m., but the turkeys are usually gone by noon, so get there as soon as possible.
Holiday Market: On Saturday and Sunday, Old Glory Distilling Company will be holding a holiday market full of booths with anything you would give as a gift for the holiday. Come by from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on both days. There will also be craft cocktails. Entry is $1 for adults, children are free.
Bash to Benefit: This fundraiser for Clarksville-Montgomery County Education Foundation, with Dueling Pianos, silent auction, and heavy hors d’oeuvres will be at the Wilma Rudolph Event Center on Friday starting at 6 p.m. Tickets are $150, with VIP tickets and tables available at Eventbrite.
