Police made a gruesome discovery on a Queens street Sunday afternoon in the form of a rotting corpse inside the trunk of a parked sedan.
Officers from the 113th Precinct found the dead body while responding to a 911 call at 5 p.m. on Aug. 29 in front of a barber shop at 130-29 Merrick Blvd. in Rochdale.
According to law enforcement sources, the body was located in the trunk of a Chevrolet Impala parked in front of the location. It’s not known, at this point, how long the body had been there prior to its discovery — but there were obvious signs of decomposition.
Police found no identification on the corpse; it’s believed to be the remains of a man. There were also no obvious signs of physical trauma reported, law enforcement sources said.
The body was transferred to the Medical Examiner’s office for an autopsy to determine the cause of death.
The investigation remains ongoing, authorities said.
