Man stabs 2 barbers in Riverside before victim shoots him to death – The Mercury News

A man stabbed two barbers inside a shop in Riverside and then was shot to death by one of his victims on Friday evening, May 21, the Riverside Police Department said.
The victims were in critical condition, Officer Ryan Railsback said.
The Riverside County Coroner’s Office on Saturday identified the attacker as Joseph Jimenez, 33, of Riverside.
The attack happened at Carlos Barber Shop at 3470 La Sierra Ave. Railsback said that about 6:40 p.m., a man entered the shop and started an altercation. He then stabbed one man, and when a second man intervened, he was stabbed as well.
The second victim then got a gun and fired at the attacker.
“The suspect collapsed right outside the business,” Railsback said.’
Jimenez was taken to Riverside Community Hospital, where he died at 7:27 p.m., the coroner said.
As of Friday, police had not determined a motive for the attack, Railsback said.
