Spend your second day exploring Barcelona’s cobblestone alleyways in the historic Gothic Quarter with its eclectic bars and restaurants. Make sure you indulge in some traditional tapas of Pulpo a la Gallegawith octopus with potatoes, slices of aged, delicious Jamon Iberico and La Boomba washed down with chilled Spanish sparkling cava before heading to Picasso Museum.
When you board Queen Elizabeth, you will struck by the elegance of the ship, its wide open spaces and convivial lounges, perfect for a G&T. Make sure you pack your dancing shoes for a twirl on the floor on its ballroom. Queen Elizabeth is known for hosting some of the best ballroom dancing evenings at sea.
As the Queen Elizabeth sails to Heraklion in Crete, you will be able to explore Greece’s largest island and the lively resort town of Malia nearby. Or, you can simply relax on one of its delightful beaches such as Ammoudara.
After a day at sea where you can pamper yourself at the ship’s Mareel Wellness and Spa you will cruise to the Suez Canal which connects the Mediterranean and Red Seas. This impressive man-made waterway, completed in 1869, is an amazing experience as the ship sails through this engineering marvel which is lined with endless villages and mosques.
Your next port of call is Luxor, often called the world’s greatest open-air museum where you can explore the magnificent ancient ruins of tombs and palaces and marvel at the Pharonic tombs in the Valley of Kings and Queens.
At Salalah in Oman, you will spot beautiful beaches, traditional Islamic architecture and mountains covered in frankincense trees. You can also visit the Tomb of Job in the hills overlooking the city.
You will then cruise to Sri Lanka and stop at Colombo where you can watch children play cricket, take in the faded charm of old colonial buildings or escape to the lush tea plantations in the hills.

After another day at sea where you can share a beer with new-found friends at the Golden Lion pub and dance away the night in the Yacht Club, you will arrive in Singapore, where cutting edge skyscrapers sit next to sacred temples. When evening falls, make a trip to Gardens by the Bay where you will marvel at the towering Supertrees, 50 metres tall and watch Garden Rhapsody, a spectacular light and sound display. Make a beeline to Chinatown and sit at a hawker stall serving Singaporean favourite food such as chicken rice and fried kway teow (noodles).
Your next port of call is Jakarta, one of Asia’s liveliest and over-crowded cities. For a bit of culture, watch traditional puppetry at Wayang Museum as you pound the streets looking for some of the best bargains in the city’s many shopping plazas. Jakarta is a shopping paradise – just make you bargain at street market stalls.
In sharp contrast, Bali is a haven of natural wonders such as brooding volcanoes, waterfalls and amazing terraced rice fields grown on hillsides. Steeped in Hinduism, make sure you visit the Shaivite Shive Temple on Lake Bratan which is surrounded by majestic mountains.
After another day at sea where you can enjoy afternoon tea and nibble on cucumber sandwiches served by white-gloved waiters and watch extravagant shows and musicals at the opulent Royal Court Theatre, you will arrive at your final destination of Perth where you will disembark, filled with beautiful memories of a wonderful holiday which you will no doubt share with family and friends.
