Kendrick Perkins Picks Kevin Durant As The Best Player In The World Over LeBron James – Yardbarker

LeBron James and Kevin Durant are two players that are widely agreed upon to have an argument for being the best player in the world. Both bring something different to the table. LeBron James is an elite playmaker for his teammates and is an absolute force when driving to the rim. Kevin Durant has an all-around scoring game, and he is a top-tier shot-creator in the midrange area. They have faced off against one another many times, and people have always debated on which of the two is better.
Kendrick Perkins has recently weighed in on the debate between LeBron James and Kevin Durant. When speaking to Brandon “Scoop B” Robinson of Bally Sports, Perkins stated that “it’s about damn time” a player dethroned LeBron James from his widely regarded position as the best player in the world.

Kevin Durant is the best player in the world. And it’s about damn time somebody dethroned King James from being the best player in the world. We’re talking about a guy who’s going on year 19? I don’t really know if LeBron James even cares about being the best player in the world no more, going on the age of 37. So it’s about time somebody stepped up to the plate and dethroned him, because he’s been carrying the torch for so long.

There’s no question that LeBron James was a dominant force in his prime, and even beyond his prime, he’s still played at a really high level. However, there are many people that prefer Kevin Durant, simply due to Durant’s insane scoring ability.
Many people are anticipating a Finals matchup between LeBron James and Kevin Durant next season, and if we do get that matchup, it will certainly be extremely entertaining. It remains to be seen if the Nets and the Lakers both get to the Finals but if they do, perhaps the debate between James and Durant will be settled then.
