Just Cuttin' Up to offer a slew of salon services in addition to ear piercing and spray tans – My Buckhannon

BUCKHANNON – Just Cuttin’ Up offers a plethora of services including waxing, facials, nail services and piercings.
The Buckhannon-Upshur County Chamber of Commerce joined Just Cuttin’ Up for their ribbon cutting Dec. 1 at their new location on Main Street. Moving across Main Street to its new location in the former Merle Norman/Pink Hydrangea location near Tateep Unique Boutique and Stone Tower Brews, the salon officially opened at its new location Nov. 1.
Manager of Just Cuttin’ Up Becki Ferguson said she appreciates the support from the community, and they look forward to providing more services to their customers.
“From the very beginning, I said I wanted something like Floyd’s Barber Shop or Truvy’s from Steel Magnolias, and we have that clientele, plus we take good care of our veterans – they get $8 clipper cuts all the time and that will not change.”
Ferguson said she appreciates having their cosmetologist Bre’Auna Holmes at Just Cuttin’ Up because she is so talented.
“I was excited that everybody came, and I’m really excited about having Bre’Auna here because she offers a lot of services that I can’t offer,” Ferguson said. “I’m strictly a hairstylist, I’m not a cosmetologist. She’s a good addition, we get along well, and we have known each other since school and she’s very talented, so having that talent and having that work environment is really important.”
On top of styling, cutting and coloring hair, Holmes offers facials, body waxing, nail services, ear piercings and will soon be certified to offer spray tanning.
“As a cosmetologist you learn how to do hair, coloring, braiding, nails – so that means manicures, pedicures, acrylics, waxing, so it’s just it’s just something we all learn to do when I went to school,” Holmes said. “I can do more than one thing, so it helps me not to get tired of doing anything and I like it all.”
“Coloring is one of my favorites, especially fantasy color,” she added. “I have a few clients that do a lot of bright colors; I actually just got done doing fire colors the other day.”
Just Cuttin’ up is open from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday and 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday for walk-ins. Appointments can be made as early as 7 a.m. and as late as 8 p.m. They also offer parking behind the salon so customers don’t have to worry about the two-hour parking limit on Main Street.
