A Mandurah business owner has been left picking up the pieces after a brick was thrown through her salon window, just four weeks after she and her husband welcomed their new baby boy.
Charlotte Jones, the owner of Infinity Beauty Academy and Salon said she received a phone call on the morning of October 15 which snapped her out of her new baby bubble.
Tracey from the sewing shop [in the same complex] called me to tell me about the broken window at about 8.15am since I’m currently off work on maternity leave.
Upon arriving at the salon, which Ms Jones worked hard to open in 2020, it was discovered that a large brick had been thrown at the window, resulting in massive damage to the side entrance of the store.

We are a small business, I have worked very hard to get to where I am today and the thought that someone can just smash my window like that makes me very angry and sad at the same time.
Ms Jones said the salon and academy was her dream business, which she designed to offer both beauty courses and treatments under the same roof.
While nothing was stolen from the salon, the damage was extensive and forced Ms Jones to close down business for two days.
We are down money as I had to cancel all of the clients for the day and my beauty therapist is down her days wages and I have to replace the broken stuff.
Now, Ms Jones is focused on fixing what was broken and spending time with her baby boy, Cai, who is just a month old.
I’m grateful for all the community support and for everyone who is supporting us by booking in treatments and courses – it means the world,” she said.
When asked what she would say to the vandals who damaged her salon, she said there were a few things that came to mind.
What exactly have you gained from breaking into my workplace?” Ms Jones said.
“I am just like everyone else – I work hard to support my family physically and emotionally.”
Forensics attended the scene and Ms Jones hopes police will be able to apprehend the culprit(s).
