Edinburgh is the UK city with the highest number of spas in operation – Professional Beauty

However, even though Edinburgh came seventh in the list, it has ranked top for the highest number of high-quality spas based in one UK area, with a staggering 104 to choose from, while Pembrokeshire and the New Forest have the least with just 14. 
According to data by CBD and wellness experts CFAH, each area’s “zen” rating has been based on several factors, including the number of spas and retreats available to customers; how many green spaces, CBD shops and yoga studios there are; and the area’s happiness rating. 
Devon came out top with an overall score of 86.96, which was based on the following data: it has 85 amazing spas for customers to choose from (the area with the second highest number of spas out of all cities analysed), four destination retreats and a happiness rating of 7.2.
Cornwall came in second place with a score of 73.54, based on the data that it has 39 spas in the area, three retreats, a happiness rating of 7.5 and 60 yoga studios, the report found. 
However, Harrogate, which is known for its Turkish baths, has been ranked the worst location to go for a zen weekend, with only 17 spas and two retreats available for customers. It also has a green space score of 10 which is the lowest on the list along with Edinburgh, Bath, Oxford, and Brighton. 
Yet, Rudding Park in Harrogate did come fourth in a list of the 15 most Instagrammable spas in the UK, which shows that even though the area has a lower number of spa operations, the ones that are running there offer a high-class service.
