Sir, – I have always been in awe of the skillset required to work in the hospitality sector, now the fancy name for pubs and nightclubs.
These include the ability to spot if potential customers are wearing football club T-shirts, the ability to see if they have the wrong sneakers on, the ability to tell if they are over 23 and the ability to know that they have had too much to drink, all of which provoke the “sorry not tonight” response.
Yet these skills don’t seem to extend to the simple act of looking at the screen of a mobile phone to check Covid certificates?
