LAKEWOOD, Ohio — When Ohio City-based Confidence Med Spa was searching for a new home, owner Victoria Heimann said Lakewood kept popping up as a perfect fit.
“When I was looking at moving, I sent out a survey to roughly 600 clients,” said Heimann, who lives in Cleveland. “We had an overwhelming response for Lakewood, considering a lot of our clients were already driving from there.
“There are medical spas around the Greater Cleveland area, but not too many full-service ones in the Lakewood area, so they’re happy to have someone in the neighborhood,” she said.

Confidence Med Spa, which provides beauty enhancement services performed by physicians, nurse practitioners and board-certified cosmetic therapists, opened this spring at 11820 Detroit Ave.
The venue offers facials, hair removal, medical micropigmentation and permanent cosmetics, skin solutions, injectables and hair rejuvenation.
“We do aesthetic services that require medical licenses to perform,” Heimann said. “There are some great spas that I even go to in the area, but we’re just a little bit different. Those spas will be more relaxing and luxurious.
“Not that we don’t do anything luxurious, but it’s just a different vibe. We’re using medical devices for skin tightening. Not everything we do is relaxing. A lot of the stuff is uncomfortable to perform on people in terms of pain tolerance on the clients.”

Previously at roughly 1,000 square feet, Confidence Med Spa quadrupled its space at the new Lakewood location.
“It’s been great,” Heimann said. “I have a ton of space with good parking. I spent a lot of money on the buildout, because it was basically a warehouse when I bought it. I gutted and remodeled the entire interior of the building. It’s beautiful.”

Looking ahead, Heimann isn’t done yet, with Confidence Salon scheduled to open in early November at the Lakewood location.
“Considering I have the space upstairs, I thought the hair salon would be a great business to do alongside Confidence Med Spa,” Heimann said. “It’ll be three different hairdressers — offering color, cuts — and a nail technician.
“So we’ll become more of a full-service stop. You can get your hair done and then get your laser hair removal.”
