Bellevue-based Zenoti, which makes software for salon and spa businesses, on Tuesday announced it has acquired Minneapolis-based ProPoint Solutions and its SuperSalon brand.
With the acquisition of SuperSalon, a competitor in the salon software space, Zenoti said the combined company will now have more than 15,000 spas, salons and other wellness businesses using its technology. The companies aren’t disclosing the financial terms of the deal.
“Customers expect innovation, and innovation needs scale,” Sudheer Koneru, co-founder and CEO of Zenoti, said in an announcement. “Like Zenoti, SuperSalon is trusted and proven among large enterprises, and our combined entity will not only expand the reach of our offering but also give us the scale to continue to develop cutting-edge technology that takes our customers to the next level.”
Zenoti, founded in 2010, offers software to help with appointments, billing and marketing. In addition to salon and spa businesses, the company works with skin care and waxing clients. Zenoti moved into fitness in March with the addition of client CorePower Yoga.
In December, Zenoti raised a $160 million Series D and reached a value of more than $1 billion. The company raised an additional $80 million in June and reached a value of about $1.5 billion.
According to a Zenoti spokesperson, ProPoint has about 30 employees who will be moving over to Zenoti, and the SuperSalon brand will remain intact. The spokesperson added that Zenoti now has about 800 total employees.
SuperSalon, meanwhile, was founded in 1999. The company offers products and services for sales-to-payroll reporting, staffing and inventory reporting. Raj Mahajan, SuperSalon’s CEO, will become the senior vice president of corporate development at Zenoti.
“I see the beauty and wellness software industry entering a necessary period of consolidation,” Mahajan said in a statement. “Zenoti’s global scale positions the company well to spearhead this consolidation, and the technology advantages will benefit everybody that uses their platform. I’m excited to leverage Zenoti’s scale to drive this initiative.”
