Newacme LLC, a consumer distribution company based in Lake Oswego, Oregon, is expanding its operations to the East Coast with a Delaware location, the Delaware Prosperity Partnership (DPP) has announced.
The 217,000-square-foot warehouse and distribution center in Delaware Logistics Park in New Castle will add 34 new jobs in Delaware, part of a $1.5 million investment in the state that includes racking, equipment, furniture and utility infrastructure. The expansion is supported by the Delaware Council on Development Finance, which awarded the company a Performance Grant of up to $44,540. The property is part of NorthPoint Development’s redevelopment project.
Newacme is a manufacturer and distributor of consumer products, including sports equipment, home and garden furniture, salon and barber equipment, pet supplies, and garden tools. Its brands and products include BarberPub barber chairs, Superfy hand sanitizers, Mcombo lift chairs and Exacme trampolines. The company, founded in 2012, has manufacturing facilities in China and distributes products through its websites and through retailers including Walmart, Amazon and Wayfair. The new Delaware location will be its fourth distribution center, after Houston, Los Angeles and Memphis, and the first on the East Coast.
“Newacme LLC is excited to open our East Coast Distribution Center in New Castle, Delaware,” said Newacme LLC Chief Executive Manager Reed Liang in a statement. “We were attracted to Delaware because of its strategic location and business-friendly approach to helping companies like ours to grow. The opening of this new warehouse will drastically save transition time of our commodities to the customers along the eastern coast.”
According to DPP, approximately 60% of the Newacme’s customers are now located in the east coast of the United States, making the new New Castle warehouse and distribution center convenient to the I-95 corridor.
