STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — Shortly after Regina DiTrani, 36, completed her master of science degree in mental health counseling, she was diagnosed with Lyme disease and unable to work.
After the Tottenville resident was feeling better, she sought a job as a counselor for those struggling with drug and alcohol addictions. While seeking a job in her chosen field, an opportunity arose for her to become certified in laser hair removal and work for a friend’s beauty spa.
