Of the three hotels at Disneyland, the most expensive and lavish is Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa. However, since it reopened on April 29 — one day before Disneyland finally reopened its theme park gates to Guests — the Grand Californian has been missing one essential thing, the spa.
Back in July 2019, Disney announced that the Mandara Spa — which was operated by a third party — would be closing at the Grand Californian. Two months later, Tenaya Stone Spa was announced and scheduled to open in Spring 2020. Unfortunately, the COVID-19 pandemic forced everything to shut down and construction on the project was paused for months.
Thankfully, Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa can call itself a spa once again. Tenaya Stone Spa officially opened to the public on September 19 and offers a wide variety of lush treatments, such as the Tenaya River Stone Massage, the Avocado, Lime, and Honey Foot treatment, as well as manicures and pedicures. Facials will be offered at Tenaya at a later date.
Disney Parks Blog shared the news about Tenaya Stone Spa finally opening and Disney’s excitement for the new, high-end spa.
This all-new, one-of-a-kind retreat was designed by Disney Imagineers who gathered inspiration from the spirit of nature, indigenous cultures of California and the iconic Craftsman design of the hotel. This full-service spa is a rejuvenating haven, where you can enjoy a spa day your way and choose from an array of luxuriating body treatments, massage and salon services, all performed in this serene setting. To learn more about the soothing spa treatments and the interior design elements, be sure to see our recent stories on the Disney Parks Blog!
Disney even shared a video where Guests are taken on a tour of Tenaya Stone Spa and can see all of the beautiful details that went into making the new Spa a one-of-a-kind experience. You can watch the video of the tour below.
Tenaya Stone Spa is now accepting reservations and Guests can make reservations by clicking here or visiting the Disneyland website.
