Many of us are now grappling with going on two months of stay at home orders, but even those who aren’t able to stay home find themselves dealing with non-essential business closures, including barber shops. As their hair continues to grow, men all over the world are taking matters into their own hands. While buzzing off all your hair is always an option, there are other ways you can maintain your hair without access to a barber shop.
Cue the magic of the internet. Step-by-step guides—like our own—are ripe with great advice. But if you’ve never cut your own hair or have a more complicated cut that you don’t want to shear completely off, you may need to look to the professionals. One step could be to reach out to your regular barber and ask if they’re offering one-on-one FaceTime or Zoom advice (and offer to pay them if you can afford it). Some barbers are wary of endorsing at-home haircuts, but you never know if you don’t ask. Another way is to turn to online hair tutorials or book a personal haircut lesson from a famous hairstylist who could guide you through a few ways to manage your hair at home. Here’s where to turn before you power up the clippers.
